Seven 每日大赛官网 Psychology students presented their own original research studies as poster presentations and/or talks at the 7th Annual East Texas Psi Chi Student Psychology Research Conference recently. Two of those students won merit awards.
Emily Johnson won an Award of Merit in the Student Poster Competition and Justin Marshall won an Award of Merit in the Student Talk Competition, making this the fifth consecutive year that an LETU student has captured an award. Other students who presented their research included Megan Korthals, Miranda Lamb, Chelsea Mires, Kyli Parsons, and Kristen Stanley.
"We are very proud of our LETU psychology students for the excellent research they have done this year," said LETU psychology professor Dr. Vicki Sheafer. The students were all in psychology classes dealing with statistics and individual research and research models that Sheafer teaches. "We are also proud that we will be hosting this conference for the first time at LETU next year."
The students attending the conference also benefited from hearing the keynote speaker, Dr. Jennifer Stewart, who presented a talk entitled "Neural Mechanisms of Interception and their Disruption in Problem Stimulant Use." They also viewed the poster presentations and talks of other students from other schools.
