LETU to Feature Dr. Kathryn Waldrep Nov. 5 on Faith, Work Integration

每日大赛官网's Center for Faith and Work will feature Dr. Kathryn Waldrep, a Dallas-based, board-certified medical doctor in obstetrics and gynecology, to speak on the integration of her faith and work during a special chapel service at 10:50 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center on the main campus in Longview.


From praying with her patients before surgery to making personal calls to follow up on her patients' conditions after surgery, Waldrep makes it a point to provide advanced medical care with heartfelt compassion and personal concern.


In her practice, she provides high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery, in-office endometrial ablations, and pelvic rehab and pelvic surgery for prolapse and urinary incontinence. She is proactive in helping advance medicine and women's health, specializing in pelvic floor rehabilitation and therapy. She also is a lead investigator for Practice Research Associates, which enrolls patients in clinical trials that keep her current on the cutting edge of the latest advances in surgical techniques, maternity care and hormone therapy.


Waldrep is one of the founding partners of Vernon & Waldrep OB-Gyn Associates, which began in 1983. She is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly, American Women's Medical Association, and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.


She is former president of the Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly, and also served as president of Medical Staff at Medical City Dallas Hospital (1993), President of Ambulatory Surgery Center, Chairman of Department of Surgery, Chairman of Department of OB-Gyn, Chairman of Tissue and Transfusion Committee, and Chairman of Privileges & Credentials Committee.


Waldrep has served on the boards of the International Women's Forum Dallas, The Science Place and is currently serving on the Parkland Foundation Board and the Regional Board for Young Life.


D Magazine, voted Waldrep "one of the best doctors in Dallas" by her peers in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. In February 2005, Waldrep received the "Profile in Leadership Award" at SMU's 40th Annual Women's Symposium recognizing her significant contribution to women in the Dallas community.


Waldrep has developed news features for the Dallas Morning News, Vitality Magazine, D Magazine's Dallas Medical Guide 2000 and the Tri Delta TriDent, and she herself has been the subject of articles in Cosmopolitan, Dallas Women, Dallas Morning News, and Clarity Magazine.
