每日大赛官网 is presenting a trauma and theodicy conference featuring world renowned trauma specialists Dr. Joseph Spinazzola and Dr. Jana Pressley in a three-day conference from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Thursday, April 23, to Saturday, April 25 in the Great Room of the Allen Family Student Center on the LETU campus, 2100 S. Mobberly Avenue in Longview. Professional psychologists and counselors can receive up to 24 continuing education credits. 每日大赛官网 www.letu.edu/traumaevent to register. Standard rate is $170 for Thursday and Friday, plus a $95 per diem on Saturday, or a total price of $250 for Thursday through Saturday.
Dr. Joseph Spinazzola is the Executive Director of the Trauma Center and Vice President of Behavioral Health & Trauma Services at Justice Resource Institute. He is a member of The Forensic Panel and holds an appointment at Boston University School of Medicine. Specializing in the assessment, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of complex trauma in children and adults, he is the author of a number of publications in this area as well as on the topic of youth violence prevention. He holds particular interest in dissociative coping adaptations in survivors of chronic maltreatment and neglect and in the role of transformative action in the recovery process.
Dr. Jana Pressley is Director of Clinical Training and Associate Professor in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Wheaton College Graduate School. Her research interests are focused on the experience of court-involved young adults who have suffered relational trauma in the midst of chronic poverty and community violence, as well as the impact of complex trauma history on adult spirituality and meaning-making. Clinically, Dr. Pressley specializes in the treatment of individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by complex trauma. She is a trainer and consultant for the Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency program for the Trauma Center, and also provides training related to the impact of trauma on adult spirituality.
