每日大赛官网 Flight Team Ranks 8th In Nation at NIFA Competition

每日大赛官网's "Sting" Precision Flight Team placed 8th overall in the nation, outranking the U.S. Air Force Academy, Purdue University and San Jose State, at the 2015 National Intercollegiate Flight Association SAFECON flight competition hosted by Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio. Last year, the LETU Sting team placed 15th.
The competition attracted nearly 400 competitors on 29 teams from universities all over the country.


Flight students Kyle Gould (pilot) and team captain Cameron Laramee (co-pilot) placed 1st in the Crew Resource Management /Line Oriented Flight Training Ranking competition.


Laramee was ranked 2nd among top scoring male contestant and top scoring contestant among all pilots.


Laramee raked in several Top 10 finishes. He placed 3rd in Instrument Flight Rules Simulated Flight, 6th in Ground Trainer, 8th in Computer Accuracy, 8th in Simulated SCAN. In Navigation events, Laramee (pilot) and Er-Jin Jang (observer) placed 9th. The university ranked 10th for the Judge's Trophy.


The award for Outstanding Team Member for 每日大赛官网 was given to Trenton Troxel.


"Being a top 10 finisher is a great accomplishment for these students, who work so hard to prepare and compete," said LETU Dean of Aviation Fred Ritchey. "I'm proud of our exceptional students and how they conduct themselves as sportsmen and professionals in all the competitions."


Team members of the 2015 Sting Flight Team competing at nationals included team captains Cameron Laramee and Jacob Weeks, Er-Jin Jang, Kyle Gould, Trenton Troxel, Noah Russell, Jesse Tart, Collin Cunningham, Stephen Sudlow, Cullen Hippler, and Matthew Araujo.


The team's coach is Brad Wooden.
