July 1 marked the start of the 20th year of American Southwest Conference competition and a change in executive leadership for the 13-member NCAA Division III conference.

Dr. Dale Lunsford, president of ÿÈÕ´óÈü¹ÙÍø, will serve as president of the Executive Committee of the Council of Presidents for the 2015-16 term. Dr. Bill Kibler, president of Sul Ross State University, will serve as vice president and Dr. Bill Ellis, president of Howard Payne University, as immediate past president. The ASC Executive Committee was approved at the May 28 Council of Presidents meeting.

In addition to the leadership change at the presidential level, the executive committees of the conference governance groups also changes on July 1 for the 2015-16 term.

The Council of Faculty Athletics Representatives will be chaired by Dr. Bob Wharton of LeTourneau with vice chair Dr. Kathy Stein of Sul Ross State and immediate past chair Chuck Boland of Howard Payne.

Terri Deike of LeTourneau will serve as chair of the Council of Directors of Athletics with Bobby Mesker of Sul Ross State the vice chair. Mike Jones, Howard Payne, is immediate past chair for the Director of Athletics group.

Formed on May 1996, the American Southwest Conference celebrates its 20th year of league competition during the 2015-16 seasons with 14 of the 16 conference sports crowning their 20th champions. ASC member institutions are located in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, making it one of the most geographically diverse conferences in NCAA Division III.
