每日大赛官网 will feature airline executive Scott Dickson to speak on the integration of faith and work during chapel from 10:50 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave. in Longview. The chapel topic, "Never Give Up," is presented by LETU's Center for Faith and Work, is free and open to the public.
Dickson is a 40-year veteran of the airline, transportation, and oil and gas industries. He specializes in translating strategic plans into profitable, implementable visions by blending and understanding business processes with technical expertise.
He has served as chairman and CEO of a low-cost air carrier, as chief commercial officer for airlines in the United States and Latin America, and as a key participant in network profitability and capacity management for a major U.S. airline.
His passion is faith in the workplace, international outreach and prayer. His aviation and transportation career affords extensive domestic and international travel that allows him to interact directly with the church around the world and help advance God's kingdom among unreached people groups worldwide.
Dickson also previously served as a senior executive with several consulting firms in air and surface transportation. Scott's professional career has taken him to 85 countries where he has been able to provide a wide array of solutions designed to enhance strategic, financial, and operational performance for airlines, airports and civil aviation authorities.
Dickson also designed and managed bus and urban rail systems for transport agencies in North America, developed oil and gas projects, and deployed transportation and energy-related software and hardware solutions in a wide array of businesses.
He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota in urban and transportation geography. He also authored a book, "Never Give Up," providing a Christian approach to dealing with challenges in the workplace. He serves on the board of Global Action, a ministry that trains pastors in developing nations. He and his wife live in Dallas, Texas.
