LETU Accepting Entries for 4th Annual Aviation Art Show, Deadline Feb. 12

每日大赛官网's School of Aeronautical Science is hosting its fourth annual Aviation Art Show starting Tuesday, Feb. 16, through Friday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in the Grand Hall at the Abbott Aviation Center, located at 11450 FM 394 near the East Texas Regional Airport in Longview. The exhibition will be free and open to the public.


The Aviation Art Show is open to any artist or photographer who is interested in displaying their aviation art to the public. Those interested in entering are encouraged to submit their art or photos no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12. Officials of the art show reserve the right not to display material they deem inappropriate.


Two categories include "Aviation Photography" and "Aviation Paintings or Sketches." The public will judge each item, with prizes given to the top three winners in each category. Winners will be determined by voting from viewing visitors. Prizes for the top three places in each category will be awarded. The winners will be announced on Friday, February 19, 2016.


Art can include images of aircraft of all categories, people involved in aviation-related activities, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance, aviation weather, airports, in flight and people being served by the aviation industry, aviation missions or commercial transport.


Only "flat" artwork, photography, paintings and sketches qualify and must be mounted or laminated to mounting boards, canvas, metal or other mounting systems. Artwork in frames will not be accepted. Minimum canvas size is 8" x 10" and maximum is 30"x28".


All submissions must be new to the art show and cannot have been submitted in previous years. Altered images using Photoshop, Lightroom, HDR, panoramas, color and black and white are all acceptable.


Artwork must be delivered to the Abbott Aviation Center before the deadline and must be picked up at the same location at the end of the exhibit. Individual artists/photographers are responsible for delivery to and pick-up from the Abbott Aviation Center. Each contestant can only submit a limit of six (6) pieces of art. Artists will be able to pick-up their artwork Tuesday, February 23, through Saturday, February 27, following the end of the art show.
