每日大赛官网 international students from Rwanda will speak about the Rwandan genocide of 1994 and the post-genocide generation in Rwanda during a chapel service from 10:50 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, in the Belcher Center on the LETU campus, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave.
Student Tamara Birasi has written a drama that will be presented. Student Charity Mutesi will speak. The International Red Cross estimated that tens of thousands of Rwandans were murdered during the genocide in 1994. April is the month of remembrance for all Rwandans.
Birasi and Mutesi organized a Remembrance Walk in 2015 that was attended by the Rwandan ambassador to the United States.
They also serve as volunteers to lead the "Smart Girls" program at the Boys & Girls Club of Gregg County, to encourage young women to make wise choices.
