LETU May 7 Commencement to Feature Edmund C. Moy as Keynote

每日大赛官网 will host two commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 7, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center at the Longview campus, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave.


The first ceremony is at 10:30 a.m. for graduates from 每日大赛官网's School of Aviation and Aeronautical Science, the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education, the School of Nursing, Psychology, Counseling and the School of Theology and Vocation, totaling 174 graduates.


The second ceremony is at 2 p.m. for graduates of 每日大赛官网's School of Business and Technology and the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology, totaling 235 graduates.


Keynote speaker for both commencements will be businessman and former director of the United States Mint Edmund C. Moy.


Moy is a public servant, senior executive, commentator, author, and director at publicly and privately held companies.


From 2006-2011, Mr. Moy served as the 38th Director of the United States Mint. He was responsible for running the world's largest manufacturer of circulating coins, precious metal bullion, and numismatic products. His role included working closely with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the White House, Congress, and the Federal Reserve during the Financial Crisis and following Great Recession.
From 2001-2006, Mr. Moy served at the White House as a Special Assistant to the President of the United States. There he assisted the President with staffing most cabinet departments and independent agencies as well as helped stand up the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He helped found and lead the White House Christian Fellowship.


Prior to his most recent stint in public service, Moy advised a private equity firm, was a corporate executive, and served on for-profit and nonprofit boards. Moy is a frequent commentator on monetary and fiscal policy, gold, currency, and cryptocurrencies for national financial media. He has been featured on CBS (including 60 Minutes), PBS (including the Jim Lehrer News Hour), and appears regularly on CNBC, Fox News, Fox Business Channel, MSNBC, and Bloomberg TV. The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, Fortune, Forbes, Dow Jones, and Thomson Reuters also quote him frequently, and he is a contributor to Newsmax.


He has authored the book American Gold and Platinum Eagles: A Guide to the U.S. Bullion Coin Programs and is in the process of writing a series of books for Whitman Publishing. He is also the Chief Strategist at Fortress Gold Group, a leading provider of gold IRAs.


Moy served on the board of Christianity Today International. He currently serves as a member of the Executive Advisory Board for the School of Business & Economics of Seattle Pacific University and its Center for Integrity in Business. He recently was elected to the Board of Trustees of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Moy triple majored in economics, international relations and political science. He and his wife, Karen, live in Virginia with their two daughters, both adopted from China.
