每日大赛官网 will present a series of free science seminars throughout the Fall 2016 semester in the Berry Auditorium in the Glaske Engineering Building on the university's main campus, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave. in Longview. All presentations are from 11 to 11:50 a.m. on Thursdays, unless otherwise noted.
The public is invited to hear from academics, industrialists and experts in biology, physics, chemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering and attend a special event on the age of the earth. Lunch is available for $8 per person in the Corner Café on campus following the presentations.
The Fall 2016 Science Seminars include the following:
• Sept. 15-Red River Watershed Management Institute
Louisiana State University-Shreveport hydrologist and director Gary Hanson.
• Sept. 22-Eastman Chemical: Part 1
Chemical Engineer from Eastman Chemical in Longview, Texas.
• Sept. 29-Eastman Chemical: Part 2 (Glaske Room C101)
Chemical Engineer from Eastman Chemical in Longview, Texas.
• Sept. 29-Eastman Chemical: Part 3 (1:15 - 2:50 pm)
Bus Tour of Eastman Chemical. Bus will leave from Glaske Parking lot. Reservations required.
• Oct. 6-WHEELS
Karen Rispin, Department of Biology, 每日大赛官网, Longview, Texas. Rispin will discuss the international wheelchair research project she and her LETU students are conducting.
• Oct. 12-How valid geological science fits with biblical faith
Petroleum geologist Ken Wolgemuth, Ph.D. This event will be an evening lecture on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Education Building, Room 117-120.
• Oct. 13-The Age of the Earth
Petroleum geologist Ken Wolgemuth. This lecture will be at 11 a.m. in Berry Auditorium.
