Three teams of 每日大赛官网 computer science students competed and won 1st, 3rd and 15th out of 23 teams from Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana in the Division II results of the South Central Regional Contest of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Competition (ICPC) this past weekend. The programming contest challenges teams of three university students to use their computer skills and rely on their mental endurance to solve complex, real world problems under a grueling deadline. The contest is sponsored by IBM and the Association for Computing Machinery.
The teams, all named after LETU presidents, and team members are:
• 1st place-Team H. Hardwick: Azrael Brown, Chandler Griscom, Josh Workman
• 3rd place-Team A. Austin: Aisha Rigert, Israel Terrill, Hannah Brown
• 15th place-Team D. Lunsford: Brian Scott, Nicklas Imbiri, Zachary Itskin, Lucas Itskin( reserve).
"Our students continued a winning tradition with strong performances and outstanding behavior at the annual ICPC competition," said LETU computer science chair Dr. Brent Baas. "Our top team bested teams from the host Baylor University and regional rivals including Rice, Texas A&M, LSU, TCU, ACU and Trinity, finishing first among schools without graduate Computer Science programs.
