每日大赛官网 is hosting several athletic camps for tennis, baseball, softball, soccer and basketball this summer for boys and girls ages 8-18. Each camp is run by LETU coaches with LETU athletes as assistants. Registration is open online at , with tuition discounts for additional children in the same family attending camps.
"Our LETU summer athletic camps are a great opportunity for participants to be coached by some of the finest collegiate coaches in the nation," said athletic camp director Leslie Reinecker.
Camps will be offered:
Tennis camp for grades 5-12 will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, June 5-9. Cost is $200. Junior players will improve with a fun combination of training drills in all areas of their game with experienced coaching from LETU head tennis coach Suzanne Merritt, assistant coaches Carlos Cardona and Michael McLaughlin. Campers need to bring tennis racquets, a personal water jug, and must wear tennis shoes and appropriate summer tennis apparel. A camp T-shirt and snacks will be provided.
Tennis camp for grades 3-9 will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, June 12-16. Cost is $200.
Basketball camp for girls grades K-6 will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday, June 12-15. Cost is $115. The camp will build a solid foundation for players at all levels with a competitive and educational experience. College-level drills are designed to develop skills, vision and competency and are specifically geared to prepare campers for high level competition. Camp is taught by LETU women's basketball head coach Leslie Reinecker. Camp includes a camp T-shirt.
Basketball camp for girls grades 7-12 (max. age 19), will be from 1 to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, June 12-15. Cost is $115.
Soccer day camp for girls age 6-12 will be from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday, June 12-15. Cost is $125. Campers will learn basic soccer techniques and skills, focusing on fundamentals of play. Camp is coached by LETU women's soccer coach John Antonisse.
Soccer camp for boys age 8-14 will be from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday, June 12-15. Cost is $125. A positive encouragement in a challenging and fun environment, this LETU soccer camp emphasizes fundamental instruction in both basic technical skills and tactics. Some functional training by position will be provided for more advanced players. Campers need to bring cleats, tennis shoes (for indoor play), a water bottle and a size 4 or 5 ball. The soccer camp is taught by LETU men's head soccer coach Matthew Haesecke and current collegiate soccer players.
Baseball camp for boys age 6-12 will be from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday, June 12-15. Cost is $125. Pitching, hitting and defense will be emphasized with coaching conducted by LETU coaching staff. Players will participate in primary position drills, team drills, hitting instruction and live games (time permitting). Campers must bring a glove, hat, bat, baseball pants and sunscreen. Camp T-shirts will be awarded at the end of the camp.
Tennis camp for grades 5-12 will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, June 19-23. Cost is $200.
Tennis camp for grades K-3 will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Monday through Thursday, June 26-29. Cost is $120. Young players will learn the fundamentals of tennis in a fun, positive atmosphere. Camp will focus on the basics of the game such as strokes, rules and competition. Campers need to bring tennis racquets, a personal water jug, and must wear tennis shoes and appropriate summer tennis apparel. LETU head tennis coach Suzanne Merritt, assistant coaches Carlos Cardona and Michael McLaughlin will lead the camp.
Basketball camp for boys grades 2-6 will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, July 3-7. Cost is $115. Campers will participate in fun, competitive and educational basketball experience with college-level drills designed to develop skills and improve fundamentals. Drills will include individual offensive and defensive breakdowns. Sessions will balance instruction, skills and game experience and will include a T-shirt and basketball. Coaching staff include LETU basketball head coach Dan Miller and assistant coach James Wallace.
Basketball camp for boys ages 13-19 will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, July 3-7. Cost is $115.
An overnight, residential Soccer camp for high school girls age 14-19 will be held over the weekend from Friday through Sunday, July 14-16. Check-in is at noon Friday and check-out at 11 a.m. Sunday. Cost is $275 for residential campers and $225 for commuters. Sessions will balance instruction, skills and game experience with athletes learning the latest methods in training and technique. Each participant receives a camp T-shirt. Camp is taught by LETU coach John Antonisse.
Dates are still being finalized for a softball camp for girls, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
