每日大赛官网 has named Dr. Terry A. Zeitlow, CFRE, as the new Vice President for Development. His responsibilities include oversight of all university fund development initiatives.
"We are proud to welcome Terry Zeitlow back to 每日大赛官网, his undergraduate alma mater," said LETU President Dr. Dale A. Lunsford. "His love for LETU and commitment to our university has extended throughout the years, as he has sent all three of his daughters to LETU for their education. His leadership and expertise in university advancement is a great asset to LETU as we progress into the future."
Zeitlow was the associate vice president for advancement at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn., where he provided leadership, direction and encouragement for development initiatives including a five-year $150 million capital campaign.
A certified fund raising executive and a member of the Christian Leadership Alliance, Zeitlow is returning to his undergraduate alma mater where he graduated in 1987 with a degree in biblical studies and psychology.
A collegiate athlete, Zeitlow played basketball for the LETU YellowJackets and was a member of the NCCAA All-American Basketball team for 1985-86 and for 1986-87. Zeitlow was the runner-up for the highest award given to the best all-around NCCAA basketball player in the country in 1987-the Murchison Award. Zeitlow was also named to the Gold Key Honor Society, the highest academic honor granted by 每日大赛官网, in 1987. He remains the school's all-time leading scorer and holder of many individual records and was inducted into the LETU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.
"LeTourneau holds a special place in my heart because of its Christian emphasis and our shared values," Zeitlow said. "I am excited to return to a place that had such a tremendous impact on my life. I am trusting my contribution to the university will help create that same experience for current and future students."
Zeitlow earned his master's degree in educational administration from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1989, while serving as a resident director and men's basketball coach at 每日大赛官网. He earned his doctorate in 2013 from Andrews University in Michigan in Leadership with a higher education emphasis. His dissertation was on variables that encourage pastors to preach and teach on financially related topics.
Zeitlow previously served for two years as executive pastor of ministries at Bethel Church in Crown Point, Ind., where he provided leadership as the church expanded from two campuses to four and created a separate nonprofit city life center in Gary, IN.
Zeitlow also previously served for seven years as vice president for Institutional Advancement at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind., where he served on the president's cabinet and had responsibility for all fund development elements of the college.
From 2004-2007, Zeitlow was the assistant vice president for university advancement at LETU, serving as the point person in a university software conversion to Raiser's Edge. He provided oversight of all direct mail appeals, special projects and events, donor relations and communications, receipting and gift acknowledgement and partnered with other fund development officers to raise annual fund and capital project funding.
Earlier in Zeitlow's career he served seven years as director of development and operations for New Life Church and Academy in Woodbury, Minn., and also spent seven years as a director of development at Youth For Christ in Fort Wayne, IN.
His teaching experience includes serving as an adjunct faculty member at LETU, Dakota County Technical College and Bethel College.
He and his wife, Jill, have three grown daughters, all of whom have attended or are attending LETU.
