LETU Welcomes New, Returning Trustees, Elects 2017-18 Officers

LETU WELCOMES NEW, RETURNING TRUSTEES, ELECTS 2017-18 OFFICERS

每日大赛官网 welcomed two new members to its Board of Trustees, two returning members and a new alumni representative. New members are Julie Livesay of Tyler and Rogers Pope, Jr. of Longview. Trustees are elected for four-year terms. The two returning members who are beginning new four-year terms are Ken Moore of Longview and Wayne Steege of Corcoran, Minnesota. Jim Hooker of Woodbury, Minnesota, was named alumni representative.

Julie Livesay is a substitute teacher at The Brook Hill School in Bullard, Texas. She earned her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies-early childhood pre K-6-from Stephen F. Austin State University. She is married to Reed Livesay, who is president and CEO of Pine Cove Christian Camp in Tyler. The Livesays have two teenaged children: Conner, 16, and Emily, 14. The family attends Grace Community Church in Tyler where she has served in church lay leadership roles as a mentor with Square 1 ministry and Gospel Village ministry.

Rogers Pope, Jr. is vice chairman and chief executive officer of Texas Bank and Trust Company in Longview, Texas. Pope earned his bachelor's degree in finance and financial planning from Baylor University and a law degree from Baylor Law School. He worked with the Dallas law firm of Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP before moving back to Longview. Community service commitments include serving as the chairman of the board of both the Longview Chamber of Commerce and Longview Regional Medical Center. He is vice chairman of the Bruce McMillan Jr. Foundation on the Good Shepherd Medical Center Foundation Board. He has served as president of the Greater Longview United Way, Rotary Club of Longview, and Longview Area Baylor Club. Other boards he has served on include the Buckner Foundation, East Texas Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America, Gregg County Division of American Heart Association, Junior Achievement, Carter BloodCare, and Longview Public Library Foundation. The Boy Scouts of America honored him in 2012 with the Distinguished Citizen Award. He is active in his church, serving as deacon, finance chair and children's Sunday school teacher. He and his wife, Kellie, have five children: Trace, Elise, Will, Sydnie, and Casey.

Ken Moore of Longview is a retired airline pilot and captain, having prior experience as a naval carrier pilot and petroleum engineer for an oil field service company. Moore earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (aerospace option) from 每日大赛官网 in 1972 and his Master of Science degree in aeronautical systems from the University of West Florida. He previously served as an alumni representative on the LETU Board of Trustees before his first election to the board in 2006. He and his wife, Cherry, who earned a chemistry degree from LETU, have two children, Robert and Alicia. The Moores attend Fellowship Bible Church where he has served as a deacon, elder, church choir director, deacon board secretary and Missionary Tech Team board member.

Wayne Steege has served on the LETU board of trustees since 2015. He is an engineer and program manager for the defense company Alliant Techsystems where he applies his skills in business process and strategy development, cost benefit analysis, and program planning. He earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from LETU in 1983, and previously served on LETU's Alumni Council. Other leadership experience includes serving as a trustee, deacon, elder, and Sunday school leader at his church. He and his wife, Melissa, whom he met at LETU, are the parents of three children, one of whom currently attends LETU.

Jim Hooker was elected the new alumni representative, a non-voting role. He is the director for aftermarket sales for Twin City Hardware in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned his Bachelor of Science in business and aviation maintenance from 每日大赛官网 and his MBA from Mercer University in Atlanta. His wife, Glenda, is the daughter of former LETU professor of welding /materials joining engineering, the late Bill Kielhorn of Longview. The Hookers attend Five Oaks Church where has served as missions chairman, governing board, elder, deacon and board of overseers. The Hookers have two adult daughters, Jacquie and Jamie.

LETU Board of Trustees also elected officers for the 2017-2018 year. Patrick A. Bertsche of St. Charles, Illinois, returns as chair; Bill Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was elected vice chair; Dean Waskowiak of Longview, Texas, was elected secretary; and Merle Stoltzfus of Elverson, Pennsylvania, was elected treasurer.

Patrick A. Bertsche is president of Matrix Design, a subsidiary of Camcraft, Inc. in St. Charles, Illinois, where he is involved with financial management, strategic planning and business operations. He previously served as superintendent of the Westminster Christian School where he also was the president of the school board. For several years before that, he was vice president of operations at Camcraft, Inc.

Bill Anderson is an executive mentor and consultant to CEOs and the principal of Bill Anderson Consulting, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He served as the president and CEO of Christian Booksellers Association for more than 20 years and made frequent appearances in the media during his time with CBA. He has been featured on numerous national radio, television programs and in national print media. He has served on nine boards in industry, ministry, education, business and leadership organizations. He is a cum laude graduate of LeTourneau College where he studied Bible and missionary technology.

Dean Waskowiak is founder, president and CEO of Encore Multimedia Advertising in Longview, Texas, a full-range advertising, marketing and branding firm that serves clients locally and across the nation. He earned an associate degree in design technology and his bachelor's degree in history and political science from 每日大赛官网. He has years of experience in business, insurance, ministry, public service, advertising and marketing. He has served on numerous committees and maintains involvement in various Christian and nonprofit organizations.

Merle Stoltzfus is a general partner for Stoltzfus Enterprises, Ltd., a custom homebuilder and real estate developer in Elverson, Pennsylvania. He has served in revitalization efforts and transportation advisory committees in his hometown area. He earned a degree in electrical engineering technology in 1971 from LeTourneau, and has served on the Board of Trustees since 1997.
